Cheryl Hughes
Founder of The Whole Wheatery
Chair of the Independent Natural Foods Retailer Association ( INFRA) .The same year Hughes attended her first Expo West, she opened The Whole Wheatery—a 10,000-square-foot natural foods store and restaurant in Lancaster, Calif. She’s since helped shape the natural products industry by assisting in the development of Good Organic Retail Practices for the Organic Trade Association and sitting on the boards of several key nonprofit and trade groups, including Citizens for Health, which helped write DSHEA; the Natural Products Association; and the Food Marketing Institute. Although the business has changed much over the past 36 years, Hughes’ enthusiasm for supporting small natural food retailers is as strong as ever.
Howard Pollack
For the last 37 years, he has owned and operated Rainbow Acres Natural Foods, which is the largest independently owned natural food store in the Los Angeles area. Howard is not only a proud business owner, but he is also a proud contributor to many of the area’s local community groups.
Pat Sardell
Pat Sardell is the co-founder and co-owner of Country Vitamins which she and her husband opened in the fall of 1982. Inducted into the New Hope Hall of Legends at Expo West 2019 for her advocacy work, work, she has been an activist for the natural products industry, serving on the board of directors for both the regional and national industry trade association beginning in 2000.
Nicole Klimek
Nicole has been obsessed about local economic sustainability for as long as she can remember! When it came time to decide on a career, she decided to focus on food co-ops and independent natural food stores. Nicole’s company is Seven Roots Group. Nicole has worked on over 250 projects all over North America and is the only person in the industry that combines Store Planning & Design, Interior Design, Marketing and Branding to create unique shopping experiences and efficient operations.

Linda Hollander has been featured by Inc. and Entrepreneur Magazines as the leading expert on corporate sponsorship. She is the author of the book, Corporate Sponsorship in 3 Easy Steps: Get Funding from Sponsors, Even if You’re Just Starting Out. She is also the CEO of Sponsor Concierge and the Sponsor Secrets Seminar.
