Producing Pioneer Robert Tepper ~ Farm Foods Popularizes Soy Foods

Once upon a time in the 1970s, several hundred San Francisco State students, graduates and Haight-Ashbury residents followed Stephen Gaskin, a teacher of comparative religion, on a quest for spiritual enlightenment.

In 1971, this quest led to them establishing a communal endeavor they called: “The Farm”.

Robert Tepper takes us on the fascinating journey of their eventual production and introduction of soy foods into American natural food stores and into the hearts of vegetarians ever since. Robert shares how he helped to navigate the popularity of soy foods contributing to their continued and mainstream popularity today. 


The Natural Health Movement Project aims to capture and tell the story of Natural Health Pioneers in North America.

The eventual goal is to create one or more documentary films.
